The short version
Ring The Alarm has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your alarms and settings stay on your iPhone. We, Built By Ramsay, never receive any information about you from the app.
What stays on your iPhone
Your alarms, the tape you have loaded, your screen colour and other settings, and a note of which tapes you have bought are stored only on your device. Alarms are scheduled with Apple's own alarm system on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
What leaves your iPhone
- Your approximate location, only if you allow it. The radio display can show your local weather. If you give the app permission, it rounds your position to about one kilometre and sends it to Open-Meteo, a free weather service, only to fetch the forecast. It is not sent to us, not stored by us, and not linked to you. You can say no, or turn it off later in Settings, and everything else keeps working.
- Radio streams. When you play Yard Radio, the app connects directly to the radio stations' own streaming servers. Like any website, those servers can see your IP address. The app sends them nothing else, and we receive nothing.
- Purchases. Buying a tape is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. The app only asks Apple which tapes you own.
Third parties
Apple (App Store, purchases and alarms), Open-Meteo (weather, only with your permission) and the radio stations you choose to play. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code, and we do not sell or share any data.
Children
Ring The Alarm is rated 12+. The No Mercy tape contains strong Jamaican profanity and is labelled on the tape. The app is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal information from anyone.
